- Wicked son! Nice to know someone who actualy understands about how important it is to balance the drive train as well. I want to eventualy get my 1.3 done in the same way. Becuase once the twin 40's go on its going to want to rev high. What are you going to be doing on fuel delivery side! I have to say once again, brilliant work bro!
not changing the fuel delivery side, the 1.6 fuel pump is pukka, it will overfuel it massively thats why it has a swirlpot, excess fuel is sent back to the fuel tank much like injection cars, will get it set up on a RR once its all built and run in. if it needs more juice i will get an uprated solid state pump. cheers for looking all

cheers for looking all Sorry let me clarify, I meant the whole system including carb setup. If you are wanting to rev it high, you must have plans to let the carb deliver more fuel. I am also going to run the stock fuel pump for my twin 40's. However I am going to have to change that when I fit a cam, as none of the cam manufacturers I have contacted make a performance cam with the lobe for the pump.

| hehehe At first I am going to run the std mechanical pump. When I have them money I will run an electric pump presure regulater etc so I can run a decent cam. Probaly a 268 or heavier. Once i have all the bits in place, Iwill have the head done, and the bottom end properly ballanced. So It will be running really stron for a 1.3 when its complete. | |

| nope then they arn't the same. VW 11 (VW2) calipers are the normal MK1 gti and mk2 8v gti calipers. Also used on the G40 polo scirroc scala etc.
Can you tel me what the whole centers are on your caliper carriers. Just interested to see if they are the same as the polo. That would make a good upgrade in the future if that is the case.

| i thought that most other caliper carriers are part of the bearing housing, the 16v brakes have a seperate caliper carrier.
i had to swap the bearing housing, hub, disc's, carriers and calipers over as none of them are compatible.
there are also 2 sizes of ball joint 17mm and 19mm, but i think the 19mm are on mostly G60's and very later valvers
if you want i can get more pics of the old and new setup

| Yeah sure that will be great, On my car the carriers bolt straight to the strut? Very strange. there are no other brakets. I know from what i have found on the net I can bolt the carriers from and 89 audi 80 which alow me to run 16V calipers. So just think about the job Ill have to find them! hehehe. So i am looking into other alternatives. Hence my original question. | |

| Here is the photo of the standard driver brakes as you can see the carrier is part of the hub/bearing carrier here are the 256mm 16v brake setup the carriers are a bolt on type, spaced wider apart and the caliper is nearly twice as big. Back to the car, fitted all the brand new seals i bought from VW, i feel raped, £40 for caliper seals and slider pin seals RRRRIIIIPPPPP but they excellent quality !! I also thought i would treat you all to a sneak pic of the bay and finally a pic of me, how i look every monday and wednesday cheers for looking | |

| well here we go, I have a couple of new parts. Gti cam, for obvious reasons. Brand new 21.5mm ARB for only £9 Picked up mint bumpers from Oakgreen16v cheers ma man Genuine crank pulley bolts Genuine brake bleed nipples for front calipers, they even came with dust caps  Then this evening it all slotted into place, first the primer coat was flatted down Then wiped with cellulose thinners and tacked all over, firxt mist coat, didnt want any runs. Then let that flash for a couple of minutes, then another coat. Then the final coat for today anyway. I really like the matt black, but i still think i may rub it down and redo. cheers guys and gals | |

Front suspension is on with shiny top caps. brake MS and servo on, first brake line is on too, dont know if a like the copper look might paint them black. Gear linkage rod support is on. Happy too, my brake fluid bottle came up like new. Some of the stuff looks white, its dust. check it out  cheers again all for looking
