I also removed the windscreen, needs to be out for paintwork, discovered a bit of rust, this will be repaired before painting. I decided to repaint the bay in something different.............Hammerite black hammered effect. I quite like it. Also mated the gearbox to the short engine and dropped them in the bay.........twice. I then fitted the offside wing and slam panel to get a better overall pic of what im creating. Decided to paint the slam panel in hammered effect too. what do you reckon

| hey gals and guys managed to do a little bit tonight, First i fitted the oil pressure sender and oil temp sender to my gauge adaptor, these will supply the aftermarket gauges with a feed, and the original oil pressure senders will provide a source for the warning lights. also started to overgaul the front wiper mechanism, stripped it all down and painted same colour as the bay so it dont stand out so much. I also painted the cam cover. I only managed to get a photo of a coupl of bits i fitted to the slam panel I also got a close up of the inner wing to show you a better veiw of the smoothness as always comments welcome cheers for looking | |

| Verry nice!!!!!I reckon you've made the right choice going with the hammerite in the bay. I definetly prefer it to the matt black. although i reckon the copper brake pipes would look better in matt black. keep it coming always love these updates | |

Also got some new mirrors, these are very specail and very rare, pics soon of these.
Fitted up fan and cowling to radiator and test fitted to the bay. again pics soon.
also done some shopping from Demon Tweeks motorsport catalogue.
Polished HT lead seperators 8 and 6mm stainless steel braided fuel hoses glass fuel filter with changable mesh filter and a 250mm x 750mm carbon sheet for mounting the gauges into.
Also stripped down wiper arms and painted matt black.
cant think of anything else, will get some decent photo's up soon.

| Hey ya all right I have installed the radiator and fan assembly front end looks like this I also have photo's of the work i have done on minor components WIPER MECH DISTRIBUTER DRIVESHAFTS WATER SAFETY VALVES CAM COVER Then i decided the standard wing mnirrors are a bit common, as you lot know that read my thread i have told you i have a very rare set of mirrors, well here they are Thats the standard mirror along with my version of the original updated. First i cut the miror casing length ways and took about an inch out the middle Then i bonded them back together with fibre glass, smoothed and painted. And with the custom glass i had cut today And fitted to the door I think you can still see the original shape in them their just sleeker what do you think | |

| well done ! all looks fab ,reminds me of when i restored my camper (which took 2 flipping years) you have put alot into this project probably blood sweat and tears and is testimont to your passion for vw ,,,, top marks
BUT if you want quality , which i think you do , and something that wont break when you drive this beast out of your garage why oh why are you buying shit from ECP , i saw the pack in the photo , i think i would give you the part free of charge so long as you dont buy from them tossers
well done mate the story of your car is interesting and entertaining and you should be proud
