| i know, still carried on tonight, more fecking arc eye. My younger sister came over to give me a hand, i taught her to weld and a bit of filler work. her welding was rubbish and cant really boast about her filler work, but both can be sorted out. My Grp N exhaust system arrived today I also got round to refurbing the re-used components of the rear drums, some bits are brand new too. Deleted the rear badge and rubbing strip holes, small dents in rear panel to be smoothed over too. Cheers for looking | |

| exhaust is from demon tweeks, its a OMP group N 3 box system for the 16v
they said they have none left and as this was the case i got it cheap, 30 % off.
Iwas going to go with a 8v gti one but they dont have any of these either.
i paid £191 including postage
cheers everyone | |

| i needed to change the rear panel as it had a big dent in the middle and rust around the tow eye. so i cut a big section out and had this to weld back in, its genuine VW too my welding is rubbish # also done some more smoothing on the rear and rear quarter will have this little lot finished up soon I will be smoothing out the exhaust cut out and creating my own to accomodate my new exhaust. cheers all | |

| cheers guys body work is the order of the day at the minute. welded up the hoes in the drivers side door then ground them down and smoothed them over with a light skim of filler Side is looking smoother moved round the back and welded up the seams and smoothed them over with filler, this is very time consuming but should look sweet. i promise a more interesting update when i get paid, got lots of goodies to order, engine will be running in about 2 - 3 weeks thanks | |

| right had a nice pay so treated myself first up were the silly bits to get me going, exhaust clamps, exhaust rubbers, oil filler cap. I also managed to get myself a GTI rear end, so i will be converting the driver to discs. cheers jay. yet to pick it up but have bought some goodies to overhaul dont ask me why but i bought the steering wheel already, should help with the motorsport interior theme I also dressed the center console and put the switches in to show you what it will look like and as you know the rear end is getting the treatment, this is the offside corner. i am still waiting for loads of stuff so i will post up soon. cheers | |

| well it turns out that 18 year old parts are an arse to work with. the rear beam is a mess, i always planned to overhaul it but this is madness. turns out the rear brake compensator is fu-bared. so i got me a new one currently i am cleaning the rear beam ready for painting but it hasn't stopped me over indulging. genuine new rocker cover and a touch of under bonnet bling, it serves a purpose too going to have it welded to the front strut brace. I should have it running soon too cheers all should have something a bit more interestng soon | |

| cheers guys
i have had the worst time ever fitting the rear bushes, wish i had gone down the powerflex route.
in other news, the rear beam is on
its all fitted up, just need to plumb the brakes up then fill and bleed.
As you know i bought a bailey header tank but in my haste to smooth the bay i choped the standard mount for it off, this is a problem, so i hacked the fixing off the tank and had something done with the tank.
it needs a bit of polishing so pics will follow.
also started to fit rear brace and weber but finished neither.
getting excited now as the big engine start is only a couple of weeks away, i think i am going to film this event as it may turn out to be quite amusing
cheers again guys and gals for taking an interest | |
