1.6 driver engine/gearbox question

got a question for you golf guys out there. I was recently given a MK2 golf 1.6 driver in prety good shape.
Only problem is that it has got no engine . I found another 1.6 driver and the owner wants pennies for it however its an automatic.

just wanted to know, if i buy the car off him, will i be able to fit the engine in my manual? will my manual gearbox fit?

yes your manual box will fti it. if you wanted to go with the auto box youd have to change the pedal box over

yes mk2 engine/gerabox will fit in a mk2.
