would love to get her running for e38, but prob wont happen!!! need to hunt out a engine.

The next two weekends are too busy for me I am afraid, maybe after that but I can't promise anything at the moment.

doesnt work!!!! not sure really goeff and matty had a look at it and well couldnt work it out, plus there is more oli in 1 and 3 than there should be really

My observations were:
Engine would not fire.
There was fuel.
There was a lively spark by the end (new plugs, dizzy cap and rotary arm).
Timing did not make a difference but we did not check the timing marks on the timing belt.
Oil in cylinders 1-2-3, 4 looked cleaner.

We did not do re-check the cam belt nor did we do a compression test. We got angry after trying for over three hours so we call time.

Maybe worth slinging a comp tester on it first then?

i just think you should of had the head skimmed and tested LOWRIDE. ive always been taught for the price of having it skimmed and tested is worth it all day long, saves you wondering, like now for instance, has this got anything to do with it?

but the sounds of what you were telling me LOWRIDE when its being turned over it sounds like the piston is fighting compression, therefore timing being out. but then again i havent heard it myself.

well im going to try get the head off on sunday( going out sat nite, and karting race at 630, plus nomads meet!!!) so will try and get it off, asked someone about a big vaulve head for mine, waiting to hear back tho.
got a new gasket set on way and head bolts,
may send my head off to get skimmed, and just put it back on,
im starting to think i may hav ducked it up when i did the head gasket! i was bit of a cowboy when doing it!!!! i knows.
