hello everyone ive been thinking of getting bike carbs on my Polo 16v and i wanted to know what am i going to need, how hard is it to do, how much will R1 carbs cost? etc etc.

someone over on club polo could get a inlet manifold made up to work with R1 carbs for about £50 and its slightly tempted me to do it.

thanks Yasser

Carbs usually go for around 50-100 quid on ebay. Just to help you search, only r1s up to 2000/1 had carbs (pretty sure 2002 is injection).
Ask what year the inlet manifold carbs are for, as the fitment could differ.

Just had a quick mooch, they are going for around hundred pound, and there seems to be throttle bodies advertised as 2003 'carbs' so be wary, I recommend googling to see what year r1s had carbs.

but be warned they are a pain in the behind!! and not a great mod for a daily driver bud!
