Ok as it looks like my new Audiscape pods will have to take 6.5 speakers it appears I'm going to have to "Upgrade" the whole lot from Headunit back... As from conversation with the Bazza-Hip-Hop-Sub-King H/Units aren't much cop at running speakers on their own... even top-spec ones like my Pioneer DEH-P77MP!

So looking for recommendations on a 1/2 decent 4-channel Amp to run:

Front: 6.5 Mids and Components (or 6.5 2/3way speakers)
Rear: 6x9's

Would like some degree of "Fader" on there too as prefer to have the rears up higher than the fronts in the Rado!

Also speaker recommendations too...

Nowt earth shattering probably 50w/channel max, NO Sub Needed... Just wanna keep it nice and simple. And cheapish.

So no 1000W Monster Amps and speakers to wake the dead please!

Jon...Have always used the JBL range in my cars.....always impressed by there quality and they have a good reputation.

Heres a link for a site where i got all my speakers from, the prices are very good and they do great deals (Maybe a deal where you get all you need in one kit)

As long as you go down the route of component's up front and 6x9's in the rear you'll be fine. A lot of people make the mistake of running a sub and 6x9's in the rear shelf, then the sub just batters the 6x9's, so the only effective part of the speaker is the tweeter in the centre.

It's all about budget i'm afraid. You can spend £35-£8000 on component's. It's about matching your speaker's with an adaquate amp. The golden rule to remember is, you can do more damage to a speaker by under powering it than over powering it. Also remember to get speaker's with a high RMS figure, this mean's they can withstand a lot of punishment over a sustained period of time. But make sure the amp you mate with your speaker's hasn't got an RMS figure higher than them, cause they WILL burn out.

Try to use component's that come WITH a crossover, that way you don't need to play around with setting your amp up or using an electronic crossover to control your system.

Some names to look out for are Vibe, Fusion, Rainbow, Audiobahn, Hertz, JBL, Kicker, Infinity.......Don't worry what the speaker grill is like, 9/10 times you'll never use them, you just have to make sure your passenger's are careful with their feet!!!!!!!

Here's a few to tempt you

Amp's are a different kettle of fish, but don't get confused by the figure's that manufacturer's put on their boxes. The ONLY figure your interested in is.....RMS @ 4ohm.
Don't worry about figure's like Total Harmonic Distortion (THD), because you'll only confuse yourself and when it comes to cars it goes straight out the window (literally)

Then you get onto the subject of Soundproofing, Resenance cancelation, Amp wiring kit's, RCA leads.......the list goes on.

If ANYONE wants anymore advice, or anymore info I would love to offer it, but for now......

Hmm.. on further thinking and the fact that I'll need to run a shed-load of wiring front and back (no space under seats for amps) Think I'll probably just go with:

Doors: Infinity Kappa 653.7i off head unit
Shelf: Infinity Kappa 693.7i with maybe a 50w baby amp...

I do have a no-name 10" sub in a custom built (for a Porker924 but fits the Rado) 1ft cubed ported box which ran in the Skyrocket, which might re-appear with a new sub and small amp to provide some "fill"

I really can't be dealing with "re-wiring" the car pulling out the interior/carpets etc..

Plus if I do go all SPL later they'll provide a handy upgrade base!

Bazza think we should talk Sunday!

No problem dude, love getting into stereo stuff.

Plus your only talking taking up the sill moulding's, it's not re-wiring the car lol!

And would love to lend a hand, if need be.
