| Maybe it is the winter, maybe it is the fact that I am restless but the MK4 GTi was bought only because my MK2 was killed and I needed a replacement that didn't require me to lie on my back in the rain in February. I was always going to buy another MK2 but now see myself not following that route just yet and have often said I fancy a Corrado, I also fancy a VR6 so lets look at VR6 Corrado's. I fancy the full works, full leather and kit so what bits should I look for and what goes wrong with it? I also don't need a sun roof. In time I would follow the route of others and get an engine rebuilt if it has not been done already. I can do suspension and disks but would pay for this if it has already been done. Standard is cool with me... I can buy with cash and then get the best deal for the Golf so can move quickly if something tickles my fancy. The following is one for sale on Edition that seems quite cheap, getting there is a problem but if the price is right and people say it is a good deal then I would have to find a way to get there. 93 VR6 Corrado I would really appreciate your thoughts and any other examples. Show me the Corrado love. | |

| Geoff get on the CF and look about loads of them on there, VR's seem to be taking the biggest hit ATM, not too sure why... Make sure you digest the buyers guide in the WIKI there too this will forewarn you with all the stuff you need to look at. TBH get a sunroof they get pretty hot in summer (esp in dark colours) and unless you luck out on Air-con it's a bit of a godsend... plus you can replace the steel one with a glass one like I did which makes the cockpit a lighter place on dull days. Come have a chat with all of us on Thursday and we'll scare you off! | |

| Helloo there, im no expert but ill help with what i can.
If its the sherry pearl one on ed38 its worth a look, you might want to check what engine work its had done, with that millage it should have timing chains ect done, other than that it looks good but a little cheap maybe ???? Sherry pearl is a lovely colour !!
head over to corrado-forum.net theres loads of info on them over there and always good classifieds..

| Knew you guys would come through with the right places to start. There is a lot to digest, car colour is one of them. I do like dark colours so black or the sherry, not the bright red, yellow, blue or green. Definitely want a VR6 and I would be thinking about a supercharger in the future. It has to be done.
A cheap one with less know about the engine will just lead me to get the engine work earlier. This would encourage me to keep the Golf until it was done.
5.5k would mean it would need to be perfect and have all the work done, I like the wheels and would want to keep it as it was for at least the winter.

| Well the £5.5 would be ideal for FI as it's just run in and has FSH (VAG I think!)
If you liek dark colours then you're in luck as apart from the Red/yellow most Rado's came in "deep" colours...
I love my Pearl Grey, but Magic Black, and Blackberry also great colours.... Keep your eye out for DBP (Deep Burgundy Pearl) another really nice colour, almost black till the sun comes out and then hits towards Deep Purple colour... also found on ED1 G60's...

| OK, so 5.5k is the top end for a perfect example, does 1.8K sound too low for the one I posted? I would have the engine worked on and expect I can learn the running gear.
What spec am I looking for if I want air-con? Is that the Highline? I will read that Wiki...

| The one on ED38 does seem cheap really for a VR6, but then it may be worth a look or a drive or even just some more information on what work has been done, or may need doing. By the looks of things on the forum it has been up for a while with lots of 'bumps' going on.
If you have a larger budget i wouldn't bother with that one, i have seen nicer examples for sales around 2.5k mark.
happy hunting!
Supercharging the engine would be sweet!!

| Aye looks at the end of it's adjustment. Plus the steering wheel looks more then 80k old (worn patch) plus no decent seat shots... Plus an engine "blown" after 80k(ish) wonder what hard life it lived till then? An what sort of miles this "replacement" ening's got under it (or is it a more "popular" 2.8 Golf rather than a 2.9 Rado engine?) | |

| Well I will have to test drive one with the lady along side. She likes the look of them but if she can get in and out then it is not going to work. The handling and looks are the reason I want one, I just am not getting that from the MKIV and whilst I know I could spend a lot of money and still not think it was as good as the MKII. However the Rado's look fantastic and since lusting after D.A.M ITs car at the pod earlier in the year I have just been thinking it might be time.
I always worry about paying top price for work someone claims to have had done only to then find out later that you have to get it done again. I would rather pay less now and get it done anyway, even if that costs me a little more in the long run. Paying out now and then not having the cash later just gets me frustrated. However, if the work can be backed up by bills or someone we know then I will pay.
Sunroofs... I find that the light distracts me and hurts my eyes. In the end I just stopped opening it more than an inch.
I can't wear a hat in the car as it goes back to a simple rule I have always had. If the driver is wearing a cap, they will try to kill me. Old man in a flat cap, too old to see me. Young lad in a baseball cap, wants to race and then kill me. Person in a Beret, French of thinking they are fashionable, no sense of direction so will definietly swerve and try to take me out.
So I am looking for air con.

| Here are two... Thoughts? No air con on either, I have only found one listed with AC and it was a LHD, I don't really want to go there.
Good price, engine done but blue More expensive, stealth engine work 25k miles ago, blue though but tasty still
Looks like the URL function in our backend is playing up, hopefully these will work again soon.

| 1st one, I'd be wary of the "rock" damage as it's where you'd bend a sill jacking it up wrong...
2nd looks pretty good though, just in Donny... a long way to go for a possible pig...
