Midnight Cruise v3.0 24th August... Nomads BBQ before.. details Pg2

Watch this space, in discussion with DubLondon guys who helped organise the last one that we all enjoyed.

This time we should be going Ace -> Through London -> ending at an as yet unspecified location

And this time we think it will be a couple hours taking in as many landmarks as possible.

Will hopefully be better marshalled this time, organising regular "catch-up" points across the capital. So there will be a chance to "re-group" all the stragglers.

We're also going to see if we can get the "Mags" involved so should be some proper photographers along.

My tip? Try and keep August bank holiday free too!

If any-one wants to help as a leader/sweeper let me know.

Ok Guys we will need about 5 people who can either read a map (or have a co-pilot who can) or know London fairly well as "Marshalls"

If we expect at least 80 cars like last time we'll want to try and break them down into groups of 10 or so per leader to help not getting lost, plus have a couple of "sweepers" who can pick up any Stragglers.

Any-one up for this?

Also thinking South Mimms and M1 services at London Gateway could be a good pre-event marshalling points...

OK, if this is a bank holiday then I can Tail End Charlie (TEC). Otherwise give me notice and I can book a day off work to ensure I am about.

I do a lot of big motorbike rides, one of the things we do is place a day-glow sticker on the number plate to indicate that the vehicle is part of the group. That means that the rest of the group follow/stop-for people who are part of the group. The first time we trailed it the difference was amazing. People felt more comfortable and therefore there was less panic riding.

We could do a trail run beforehand to get a feel for the route, the less turns the better TBH. Each sub groups gets a different petrol station to fill up with if we expect that to be required or no-one leaves the start point without at least a 3/4 full tank.

I hate rules but with a simple framework these events can become more fun for everyone.

Yeha Im up for it, dito about the humps.

It'll be central London mates, the bumps and potholes come with the teritory.

But we'll make sure there are no speedhumps (or as few as possible)

just for the record jon, this would be midnight cruise 3, and v1.0 and v2.0 were actually organised by me and Ty (black_mk2)

Right Guys, had a meeting with NOZ From DUB-London last night and we've provisionally sorted a route out...

All I can say at this time is keep the night of 24th August (Bank holiday Sunday) free and sober!

Route plans won't be released untill that night to try and stop people just randomly driving off rather than cruising as happened last time.

And for those up for a bit of a drive I'll probably do an alcohol free (for the drivers) BBQ that afternoon as well! All Welcome!

Also any Marshall voulenteers? We're now thinking we'll try and get the whole group into London then sweep up from there..
