| alright L0WRiDE. was wondering if the dubs ok cos i saw it being towed by a blue 106 rallye going past the red lion pub in apsley yesterday. gotta love old dubs dude!

| just done a head gasket in my mates 106 rallye( my new tow car!!! ) yer not sure about going it on a golf tho so may have to call up on u all! will try get my car in my garage this week, will need to kick my mates car out first thos. and go from there, im bidding on a BAM engine at mo so see how that goes but will prob get out bidded. got to empty my savin account before anything can happen! | |

| head gasket has been fitted, new cam belt, everything re conected, turned the key........ no go my mate took the ht leads off and couldnt remem where they when!!!! thinking we got it right, but still no go, working again tonight before pub quiz!!! then got tomorrow of work to work on it if still not working!!! but with any lucks i will be driving tomorrow, havent driven her in soooo long, think i can remem how to drive !!!! | |

| I have done it by guess work before and sorted it in about 10 minutes. I followed the rule of 1-3-4-2 and then looked at the dizzy, one is closest to the engine and 3 furthest away, in clockwise order. Imagine a circle....

| thanks calimori, now i know that the order is right, but still no good!!! and well iv reached way over the top of my expertise!!!! its just not firing, its turning over but nout else! iv just dont know, check all the leads are connected, HELP PLEASE!!!! | |

| i think it could have something to do with the "knock" sencer, the lead that connects to the front of the block by the altonator! then connects to a 3 pin block conector, the lead is about 30cm long, would anyone have one lying around??? will get a pic up online if it will help and when battery has charged in caMERA.
just checked that timing was right cam and dizzy are all gd just bottom end to check, but got to wait for mate to bring my spark plug remover back after work. | |
