Hi all,

On finances polo gti we have an engine management light on after jump starting from my car and a latest thing, the steering wheel is heavy on start up for about 2-5 minutes. If driving of without warming up there is a rather loud click coming from the steering column, as if something has fused together overnight and being broken one steering is turned. One warmed up, is all fine. Checked power steering fluid level all good. But it isn't GREEN like I've read this morning on the web. It's more like brake fluid colour.

Would light on the dashboard and steering simptoms be linked?

Any advice is welcome.

Thank you.

ev do not jumpstart any car ever again because you can blow the ecu , i only found this out recently. apparently the 'surge on the system' can mess up ecu and therefore the running of the vehicle.i gues a vagcom would be able to tell if there was any damage

i dont know if thats related to the heavy steering tho ,is the PAS belt slipping

Hi dapperdan.

Well you learn something new every day!

The belt seem to be fine as there isn't any usual screeching associated with that. But I'll have look and a poke later on today. Do you know anyone who has vag com without having to take it to the dealer and pay £100 for a test?

Cheers
