Brilliant Sunday at Festival of Speed, didn't get many pics and they don't do the sound or atmosphere justice, but here ya go...
Last year's Ferrari F1 car
2008 (I think) Red Bull
Red Bull demo car (driven here by Adrian Newey) having excess oil removed.
The V8 is under the air filter, which is already below the height of guy's knee next to it. Everything back of where the rear wishbone bolts onto is the gearbox back to the driveshafts; these cars are engineering madness.
Renault V6 Turbo, from the 80s. Beeeg turbo; probably around 1200+ bhp.
Lots of Renault cars:
More engine; next year I take a 10mm spanner
Red 5 - Nigel Mansell.
Original McLaren Can-Am racing car
Orange!
McLaren MP4/1 with bodywork removed. The very first F1 car made from carbon fibre (1981 I think)
Note the hi-tech brake duct restrictors
Fiats (and compulsory Italian Man in Stylish Shades):
Loads of old INDY stuff, which is meaningless to me
but I like that you need an old laptop to run an old car. Car was running at the time, sounded immense
SLS AMG GT car (sorry AMG stuff creeping in!)
1 and a half Audi Le Mans-winning cars
Rims!
RIP (and I agree!)
Giant E-Type sculpture:
I neeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed one:
Up the hill
Peugeot 405 Essex Edition
Mudflaps!
It's Dirt3 in real life! British Leyland's finest.
Imagine this in your rear view mirror
I think I'm going to try and copy the vent on the right of this photo for my wing, where people fit sprinter vents:
I Like Audis
The car park can be as interesting as the event. My next car in the foreground
nice new Charger behind it and because this is MADS there's a Type 25 camper in the background
