NOMADS PLEASE READ

on the 'herts hemel ski center thread has been much talk about moving our regular (1st thursday) meets to the ski center in hemel,

as it stands at this very moment........................

- NOTHING is finalized but we do wish to finalize arrangments before next months meet,

-we are welcome to stay at the cowroast if we want

-we are not yet confirmed permission at the snow center yet (pinky will know?)

-i for one do not see NOMADS as a hemel club if we must pigeon hole ourselves
i guess we are a hertfordshire club altho i like to think a nomad an be from anywhere so we can meet anywhere..........


there are plenty of pros and cons involved and i (and the team) would like to know what you think about moving there
this is OUR club and your opinion is valued and requested

I think it's a top idea to move the meets to the Hemel Ski Centre - bit more light on the subject in the carpark... but alas no fire for Sam...

OR maybe have most of the winter meets there and the summer ones at Cow Roast

I think the change could be good as it moves us alittle more into the centre of Hertfordshire and may make it easyeeerrrrr for new folk to find us all.

Well dats what I say.... anyone else...?

Nah, the Dude points are gone. They were awarded by other members when someone did a deed that warranted them being a dude. But over time they upset people who weren't getting points for all the really good stuff they did but other people were getting them for less impressive things. Points started being worth less than a two year old nokia phone so we ditched them.

What I am not convinced about with regards to the Snow Centre Car park is how cosy it is as a club venue. The club has always tried to avoid the 1st Thursday night being a 'car park' meet. There are bad points to the Cow Roast but there is a pub with chairs and a fire for sitting in front of whilst we talk testicles about cars. The bad point is that it is not central and has a worse surface than the moon.
Other than that, I think a few people who have been out of the loop were just surprised the change was going ahead when it was thought there was not permission from the Snow Centre yet.
I have failed to make a meet for months though and am happy to support what the club wants.

No disrespect peeps, i'm not a fan of Hemel much rather stay where we are. But then, who am I to say that we should stay put where we are. I'm just a newb here. I'll just follow the "family"!

I do think thougt that if some idiots did turn up then once they have 30+ people looking at them like they are a bunch of pr@ts then they will either clear off as they know they aint welcome or they will calm down and join in.

Its also not so much about where the Snow centre is situated...more the facillitys that it can offer us.
I do believe they also hold a Hotrod club there too.

I think the lack of fire will lose us lots of numbers in the winter months. Also I dont think they will be happy about us taking drinks from the bar out into the car park. also it could end up feeling a lot more like a chaves carpark meet but it is bigger and lighter and smother altho the pot holes dont bother me too much and if I can deal with them im sure you all can lol

Yes I forgot about that...dont know if we will be able to bring drinks out...but even if we cant then there is a mcdonalds 2 mins walk away.

Some really good points there... understand totally why some people like the cow roast its cosy and warm inside and has good food, and the old landlord was very accomodating and supportive, but i can also see the advantages of moving to somewhere like the snow centre so this will be interesting to see what the majority think....

I think there needs to be some more investigation on some things though like whether drinks can be taken onto the ski centre car park and how packed does the Cow Roast car park gets in the Summer... especially on the Sundays

the cows maine income is from lunchs and thai resturant ,

so i would hazard that sunday afternoon would be less preferrable to a week night.

if this move goes ahead i am gonna propose that

peeps meet there and convey to the snow center IF anyones interested??
