new passanger wing and welded up the aerial hole



sorted some boody damage on lower part of drivers rear quarter, was dented and rusted, while i was there i welded yp the holes left by the side strips





(i have finished this part and it is in primer but it was too dark to take pics)

Doing a cracking job dude, keep it up.

today i have moastly been.................

replacing drivers side wing



smoothing ofside rear quarter bumpstrip holes and sorting all the small dents



and welding up my spare tailgete and smoothing it properly

ive done the passanger side door handle



but i cant for the life of me figure out how to get the Fu*king thing to open my door catch

ive spent a whole day trying to do it and have given up now so am just smoothing the lot and fit some poppers

oh by the way ive finished it now

i havnt got any progress pics as my camera decided to stop taking pics.

if any of you went to modified nationals show in peterbrough at the weekend you would have seen it there and if i dont make it to the meet on thursday ill post some pics up

all done finished it at 12:30 thursday night/fri morning before going to modified nationals car show at 10am of fri

I recognise the Mk2 in your sig mate, not to sure where I wouldve have spotted it and when, and if its the same Mk2 as the light blue one in the pics of Mod Nats then hats off to you - thats some mighty turn around.

yeah its the same car, it was in that state for 2 years before i did all the bodywork on it so you prob would have seen it about somwhere maybe at a show or a cruise

gearbox decided to give up a so it ment i had to drive from hitchen down the m1 to hemel with 1st gear, so replaced that





removed the engine to do so and replaced a couple of bits to sort oil leaks.


thanks to a realy shitty design by vw i couldnt get the exhaust front pipe back on to the manifold so i decided to put a gti exhaust mani and front pipe on as it bolts together insted of cliping. but thanks to another realy realy shitty design by vw you have to take the inlet mani off to take the exhaust mani off but there are two bolts that are completely unaccessable with the engine in the bay wich left me with this two days before moving house!





i had to tow it to my new place.


it is all appart now whch gave me the oppotunity to do a couple of mods while i had it all appart. cut off all the spikes on the preheater in the inlet mani as its restrictive





while the head is appart i might aswell put in an uprated cam and rebuild the carb as it was getting a bit rough. just waiting for my gaskit kit and the new cam and then it can all go back together

and...


today i have been smoothing my new front bumper as oldone was poo and i broke it


this time ive done more than just the fog holes inve smoothed the indicators and numberplate recess
