Hi Peeps
I have a power-steering issue on my mk3. . . it makes a loud squeaky noise when i try to turn at low speed and jerks a lot . . .
i thought its might be the belt? but it looks fine. . .
any suggestions?

Either pumo as fitzy said, low fluid or a loose belt.

Always try the free things 1st, then the cheap things then if all else fails look at the expensive things.

The belt may look fine but if you push your finger in the centre of the longest length it shouldnt move more than say 1/4 inch (from memory) if it does. tighten it and see if the issues go away.

Check the fluid and then look at the pump.

Hope that makes sense and helps.

Stu
