Just wondering what all you lot have done with insurance after lowering? Have you notified your insurer of the modification or have you not bothered, as im tempted but loads of people on club polo have said it would invalidate your insurance if you didnt tell them. Im on direct line and apparently they wont even look at mods until your 25?!

direct line wont allow you to mod your car mat, i found that out Sad

problem is if you dont declare your technically not insured, so if they wanted to be arseholes about it 6 points, fine and a big black mark on your license!

not worth it in my opinion, i declare everything on my car, even the remap which they probably cant detect anyway! (didnt cost me any extra for any of my mods to be fair)

I am with direct line and I have always declared, glad I did as when the MK2 was collected the first thing the assessor did was point out the stance and try to get me to accept a low price.
However, they don't allow you to have many, so at some point I am just going to declare an engine upgrade.

I declared every last damn one on my Golf to Adrian Flux, out of paranoia - "100% power increase" :O

Ah, with age comes great power Twisted Evil.
It might well be that they nobble you due to your age. I have full NCB which is protected as well so I do end up with a good quote.
However I will report back when I fit my current round of bits and see what they charge me.

I would have said my Beetle was completely standard, except for the drop spindles that lower it a little. Very Happy

It was £42 pound for the new shocks until the end of the policy in three months time. They believe it will add £100 to the cost next time. I plan to move to AF
