| It is well worth the cost of doing the top mounts now, if you dismatle it and find they need doing you might get annoyed at putting it back together with the old ones. They do also make a big difference. | |

| Consider the forces that your suspension is subjected to, they try to deal with the up and down but they are being pushed from all sides. To absorb some of these forces and to soften the impact and damage they use rubber mounts and bushes. However, rubber degrades and gets torn apart and therefore your suspension will start to move about and knock, so the forces go in all directions and makes your handling vague. A car our age, that has never had them changed, would benefit from just having the rubbers done before we get to the fun of changing the suspension. Also they might fall apart when the old suspension comes out. | |

| Hey man if you do use your old top mounts then the uprated coilys will hammer them to bits within months so it does make sense to renew if you can, then you shouldnt have to renew for ages... also remember once coilys are fitted and you have driven your car around for a week to help them settle, adjust to your desired ride height then get the wheel alignment done by a garage... | |

| The VW ones might not but I thought Fitzy was going to order you the SEAT ones. Check because GSF ones don't have the sort of life you would want. With front and rears, all replaceable mounts, nuts and bearings, it came to about £71 but would you want to pay £600 for good suspension only to still knock about due to cheap top mounts. | |

| oh, he can order seat bits? sorry i didnt realise he could get those? £71!!! you have a valid point though cali! like people who spend thousands on a car and put £50 tyres on it! for some rubber. when you say mounts, are they engine mounts? or just whats needed for suspension? and would the coilovers come with any of that? | |
