A bit annoying!

Speaking of our lovely, "sunny" summer this year, Ive been using my windscreen wipers a bit more than any other year I could remember.
The annoying thing about that, is, from wiper linkages/motor assembly is "clunking" a fair bit at normal and high speed mode, hardly noticeable in intermittent mode. I've got a hands free in my POLO, and whenever I'm on a phone when its raining, I get asked "what am I hammering"?

Does anyone know inexpensive solution to this? I Don't really want to replace the whole linkage assembly if it is expensive. if it's something like rubber gaskets/bushes that I can replace that would be great.

In fiances 6N2 GTI it's silence when wipers in operation.

Any advice is welcome in advance.

park the two polos next to each other and work out whats meant to be loose and whats not


i bet its something loose not broken , they wouldnt work at all if they were broken

the wipers arnt hitting the 'a' pillar are they!?

also check that the wipers fit on the arms properly (i.e no excess play)

are they normal wipers or aero wipers?

They are BOSCH aerotwin wipers. Same as Missus ones. No arms aren't hitting "a" pillars

I think problem lies within the pivot points on the linkage mechanism.
