hey guys,

just wanna know if its sensible/possible to fit some 15" wheels on my polo 6n?
running 13" at the moment.

low profile tyres?
will it rub?
wil thr fit the arches?
what are the pros and cons of fitting bigger wheels?

note: suspensions is all stock and car has not been lowered or anything like that....but that will soon change when [ay day comes along! Twisted Evil

Im currewntly running 6N2 GTI BBR RSII's they are 15" on 195/45/15 tyres. They fit like a glove and I still have enough room to drop my car on coilovers.

It is all depending on your suspension arrangements (standard or lowered)?

if you run say 17" rims you'll need to have a real low profile to keep your speedo true in relation to your actual speed.

basically here is a link have a play around.

http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

15" with 45mm profile is ideal as it is same as running your standard 13" with 65mm profile.

with 15" rims if you travel at 60mph you are actually traveling at 59.9mph so a tad slower which in my opinion good as it will keep your licence clean Smile

By the way, forgot to mention that lower profile will reduce cornering body roll but will make your ride a little more harsh and sensitive.

Wider track say 205mm over standard 175mm will make your steering feel heavier.

I hope that helps

No probs pal.

They are nice wheel but standard finish to the lip is appalling.

Refurb work is arround £80 per wheel plus new bolts if you'll snap any. Bolts are titanium and as such difficult to get hold of unless you buy steel replicas. There is a guy on eBay who sels a pack of ten at £25 plus p&p but I'm not sure if they are genuine bbs tho.

Have fun.
