| Hi Nomads, I was getting a little bored of the Rocco and a good friend of mine said he would take it off my hands for a decent price, so I started looking for a new car, browsing MK1 owners club I found a tidy looking MK1 Clipper 45 minutes away me and Lauren went and had a look last Sunday, fell in love with the car straight away. Made a deal with the guy and went back today with a handfull of cash. Anyway pics! Take same of this And get one of these Its 1.8 Karmann with a straight through stainless system, small bumpers always preffered these over the big bodykit clippers. MOT and Tax small amount of rust, lowered on coils. Its got a tidy blue interior with a blue dash and a tasty wolfsburg wheel. Unfortunately I may have been a bit blinkered when I brought it and failed to spot the rusty fuel filler pipe. The car was good driving back but when I put my foot down the car started to cut out my guess is there is some rust in the fuel tank and its made its way into the filter and blocking it, should be sorting this out asap. Anyway start with the mods! Very small, but my mate gave me these mats out of his MK1 polo so I gave them a wipe down and put them in the golf. Here they are fitted Found these on the floor under the drivers seat Pieced it all together and taa daaa I know all small but its a start Next on my list is rub the yellow paint of the headlights Going to do that tomorrow at work. Unfortunately I have to give the P - Slots back to the old owner in a couple of weeks so im going to put my wheels from the Rocco on the Golf and go LOWWERRRR!!! Anyway thats all for now what do you guys think? | |

| These older cars have so much adventure to them when you are finding surprises with every investigation. That is all part of the charm, especially if you enjoy the tinkering and fixing. Small bumper man myself, they have a classic look. Great project. | |

| Well Ive had a day off so went to a little trip into Aylesbury to see if any of the motor factors had a fuel pipe, seems the car is getting worse as it cut out on route to Aylesbury. Got to Allparts and asked the guy for a fuel filler pipe he said they dont do them but his brother in law breaks vw and audis, so he gave him a ring and the guy had a cabby fuel pipe in good nick for £25. I also brought a new fuel filter for the whopping price of £1.60 and headed over to Whaddesdon to pick up the pipe. It took me ageees to get there! Car cut out about 6 times really annoying gave the guy his money had a chat and he has rakes of MK1 and MK2 parts. Tried to go home and it cut out twice more so thought f*@! it ill just chuck the fuel filter on now to see if that solves anything, had to undo the jubilee clips with a 1p coin, put on the new filter and got the whole way home without cutting out. Got home and cut the filter to have a look inside Not much but im sure there is so much more of that to come when I empty the tank out. Also put half a bottle of this in. Not sure if it will do anything but worth a shot Anyway got home gave the whole car a good clean and wax, took a few more snaps for yall Need a new bumper Just need a couple of strong magnets and a idea on how to remove the back seats and I should have a clean tank and new pipe in | |

| Great work and picture on the golf but it looks like you had some fun tinkering with a few other motors. Are they all yours? The MG 1300 is a lovely car, the one BMC thought would rival the VW Beetle in America. Hummm supercharged v8.... | |

| Cheers man No they not mine cant afford any of them, its a guy from where i work he lets me go round and muck about with my car and he helps me out if i get stuck, theres nothing him and his brother cant fix! 1300 is so cool, he brough it with no engine and put a mini engine in with a straight through system. i went and got a jerry can of petrol for it and we had a little cruise through town The engine in the v8 is a brand new one he found in a mg garage with only a few miles on it as he blew the last one doing 160mph | |

| Well had a play with the car today. Thought the engine was foo-bared because of how rough it sounded on Friday morning. Thought the oil pump was broke so took the rocker cover off to see if there was oil there. Looked all good but when the engine was turned on only half of the camshaft was getting oiled up. Also found these two dents on the sump Dropped the oil To find this Its the plastic from around the oil pickup pipe, im guessing when the sump got hit it shattered the plastic. New pump on with the plastic Filled her up with oil, put a new filter on and started her up. Was fine the sound has gone oil light has not come on, driven 11 miles so far trouble free! | |

| Ow, that looked worrying but it sounds like you have solved the problem so hopefully it has not caused any lasting problems. Looking very clean up in that engine bay. | |
