Help with Coilovers Mk3 Golf GTI

Hey Nomads,

I recently joined and have bought a '95 Glof GTI 8v Mk3 (pics to come soon), apart from two small rusty patches its in factory condition.

I am doing some cosmetics and engine work now but am looking to purchase some coilovers very very soon. Defo want adjustable coilies but unsure which to buy.

I want it as low as possible and need some help, as this is my first VW. Lower the better!

Looking to lower all over by about 70mm-100mm onto 16". But dont want to loose too much ride comfort.

Any recomendations on coilovers????

You can pick up some 120mm coilovers for £150- 250 off ebay

my old VR6 had supersprint £250 and they were pretty decent

unless u spend mega bucks on coilovers with adjustable damping etc most coilovers are going to be uncomfortable ESPECIALLY if you want to 100mm+ low

so if u want to SLAM it .......just buy some cheapo ones!!

In all seriousness ask the other "blackgti" as he has exactly the same car and he has coilovers

Hi mate, ive got fk streets on mine. The ride is fine on motorways. Country lanes, pot holes they get a bit bouncy, harsh. These are my first coilovers so have nothing to compare with. Buy VW front top mounts, my GSF ones lasted about 2 months!!

Well for lows I would go for JOM ebay specials my 3 was very low and I had plenty more of thread left, if you go with them be prepared to be in a wheelchair in your later life as they are might harsh on your back
