| ive been reading alot of threads about 1.8 20v turbo conversion in mk2 and want to do it to mine. ive read the best recipe is AGU 1.8 20v turbo from mk4, audi a3/4, skoda, passat pre 2000 reg DBW mk3 gear box, flywheel, clutch, starter motor mk4 gear linkage passat inter cooler after market rad fan slimline after market air filter and intake pipes audi coil pack mix and match exhaust system mk2 accellerator cable, clutch cable drill and vented disc ( bigger calipers ) fuel hose adaption fuel pump replacement standard ECU with full wiring. reloacting washer bottle, coolant tank ( drivers side making way for air filter etc )
correct me if im wrong on any bits please.
ive decided buying a complete car possibly cat d write off, getting the bits i need off it and scrapping the rest make a little money back on parts. source all the aftermarket and other bits and once all is stocked up let loose on my mk2!
im also going to completely rebuild the engine whilst out as most engine have 100+k on them.
if theres anymore anybody can add please feel free as the more i know now the less time and money il waste getting it to work
cheers

| You could go for a leon engine they have the 180bhp where the mk4 golfs have the 150 unless it's an anny the leons have the better ko3s the golfs have a ko3 again unless it's an anny.! | |

| im looking at getting my hands on a cheap passat 1.8t lump with low mileage and everything i need including wiring looms, intercooler, all piping, all mounts etc.... with a change of sump, manifolds and mounts it will be easy fit and for the money im paying well worth it. im not really fussed about getting massive bhp out of it and the passat has 150bhp which is alright and with a remap il be happy. evetually may go bigger turbo and more into modding the engine but for now just want more power than ive got and not to spend a fortune lol. | |

| K03s were fitted to the golfs from ~2001, AUM's should have K03s unless they were swapped out at some point. The 180BHP AUQ are pretty much the same lumps as the AUM's. However you might be better off getting the old AGU's which were wired throttle as they can make the conversion easier apparently. Check out QPENG who give some advice and ideas. If you have the lump then there are a few bits like the turbo that will be cheap and easy to swap out and get some more power later if required. | |

| Or an agu and bolt a ko3s on to it , that's what I have as a daily beater, or if you got the cash hybrid, but then you have to get, bigger maf, injectors, pump , 4bar fpr, etc etc , I have one on my Anni and it goes well, when it's not showing 17705 . (common on aum, aqu) thats why I think agu with ko3s . | |
