Hey all - finally made my way back to VW again, this time my third Mk3, and my second VR6 Very Happy

Chopped in a black Mx5 a few weeks ago for an Indian Red mk3 (the new owner has already written off the Mx5!), and I've got some minor problems with the VR so you might not see me about in it for another few weeks yet! Crying or Very sad But still, it's quite unique, so give me a wave if you do see me, I'll try to make the massive trek over to Cow Roast asap, provided Voodoo can sort out my problems (I'm booked in there next week).

R.I.P:

The VR's riding very low on some 16" 9j splits at the moment, but I'm chucking on some refurbed Solitudes & getting it wound up off the floor for daily use - it's a shame, but for me it's worse not being able to stretch the VR6's legs, because I might rip off the sump at any minute! Also I'm very poor, so hoping I can make a few ££ on the current wheels & cover the cost of repairs & the solitudes. Its got a Vento front end, and you might also notice the rather interesting exhaust the previous owner fitted...

i think it looks very tidy Razz

be good to see it at the meet, there are some very smart people there when it comes to car so you might save yourself some dough in the long run just having a chat Smile

shame about the mx5, very nice motor...

I sometimes wish i had got thicker tyres for mine when I drive to fast into a corner or can get some speed up on a nice country road but i always find myself thinking 'i can go lower' when i step back and have a look Razz

hopefully see you at the july meet bud.

dash

Cheers guys - no pooping into the exhaust pls Musto Very Happy I honestly hated the exhaust when I first saw it, but now it's growing on me. Sounds quite cheeky too, spits & pops a bit...

It is in good shape overall, I've got a few plans, nothing drastic - just tidying a few areas up & heading back toward a more OEM style I suppose Smile

Cheers minty! Saw your pic on the forum here, yeah the exhaust gets some attention Very Happy

Some inconsiderate a-hole swiped the rear quarter of the VR on saturday morning (looks like they were in a white van) some nice scratches & paint has cracked. Mad Fortunately it was just the bumper, the panel escaped with just some rub marks; I might just have to try a bit of spraying myself, if I spend a few hundred & get it done professionaly, some boob will just scratch it again in 2 weeks time! You should see the state of the bumpers on the cars around here, most look like something out of a destruction derby Rolling Eyes

Some good news as well, picked up the refurbed Solitudes at the weekend & they look nice, fresh rubber too Smile
