| i Saw the New scirocco today and all i can say is...............What a dissapointment!!!! it was VW's most anticipated car of Y2K and it turns out to look like a soft squigy astra!!, considering the scirocco/ corrado badge is a legend in itself u think they would have gone to town on the new one!
Theres no aggressive lines, no giant grill, no green paint no nothing!!!
Sorry VW but u let me down BIG TIME

| I must admit, I am disapointed, the concept car looks wicked. Talk in the wings is, the grille on the concept mimics audi's new design to much hence the new straight line version???? My personal opinion they are doing it to prolong shelf life. Ie the face lift will probably move close in looks to the proto-type. Well thats just a theory. Still I am disapointed.
Who knows, maybe they will release an R-line version that will look like that. Such a pitty.
OR Maybey we will be very lucky, and they will launch an R32 version, yeah.

| Not at all, the IROC was a 1/2 decent attempt at something different, which is what the Rocket and Rado were in their day... Look at the Rado's competition the Ford (anal) Probe and the Vauhall (0 alcohol) Calibre... both badly styled Coupes compered to the Rado...
Look back at the Beetle concept vs the finished article to see how close they can get things.
A shame, think they toned it down for the US market, and VAG USA proptly turned right back round and said we don't want it, build us more MPV/and 4x4 cr@P!

| About the only thing that is really similar to the prototype is interior. Well as close as practicality will alow I guess. I still find my self thinking it now looks like a chisel. Very sad day indeed. I am really not sure what there reason for this diversion are, how ever I realy hope we get a limited edition model at least that is close to the proto-type. The body itself is dam close to the proto-type( ok so that makes two things! ). Its just that dam nose! | |

| PS You can now see its being built on the golf five platform, dash etc. Notice the roof line front to back is not as sharp as the prototype either, probably for more head room. For people like jezza. It now looks like a The rear angle sloping forward, is much more upwright than the proto-type obviously for more boot space. jeeeeez the more I look the more pissed I get. | |

| granted its not at all as radical as the prototype but without all the hype and build up if it just turned up without any announcement id think its actually quite an attractive car, you cant call it ugly can you? mabye just not as good as it could have been.. once someone gets their hands on it and modifies a few things i reckon it could still look the nuts | |

- for all of u who aint seen it yet
you know what you lot, firstly, the scirroco is just well love em so much, then the rado is also a cool car. but im going to be honest, from these pics above, i really like the look of the front, and side, the rear is something which is going to grow on me. and the interiors ok too. thing which im getting bored of is the same engines going into it! BUT THIS MIGHT LOOK COMPLETELY DIFFERENT IN REAL LIFE. thing is, this thing hasnt even taken off yet, and it might not at all! i see where you lot are coming from as this is ment to be next in line from the scirroco and corrado, and to be honest, i dont even think of them as the same (the new Rocco to the old rocco and rado), but i do kinda like it. thing i want to know is when the scirroco finished and the corrado took over, was this the same response as we have now?? (before it actually took off the rado) thing is im not old enough to remember/recall this! But i know alot of people slated that 2.0 16v 9a to bits. and ive driven one and it was a load of shit, and the 1.8 16v was too. Im now waiting to get a complete slating fill me in people! |

| the rocco looks better in the flesh (i've been told by my D.P)
engines will vary
firstly coming with a 2.0 turbo GTI engine then followed by the 140bhp diesel and then the 1.4 TSI 170 bhp engine,
Have heard rumours of a 3.2 v6 version too!!

| 3.2v6 won't happen as VAG don't like cars "crossing over" into other niches.. would encraoch on the TT if tehy did do an "R" model!

SHAME the scirocco crosses over to the TT market anyway??? regardless of the engine size??? ................. its aimed at GTI, R32, A3 , and TT drivers to go for something different
