GTI International Clubstand 26th June 2011

GTI International, the UK's greatest gathering of Volkswagen Group car enthusiasts, is organized by Volkswagen Driver and Audi Driver magazines.

Now in its 24th year, the event has a long and distinguished history – it began in 1988, at Knebworth Park, before relocating to the TRL in Crowthorne until 2002, when it moved first to Wroughton near Swindon and then to Bentwaters Park in Ipswich for 2003.

Since moving to Bruntingthorpe, near Leicester, in 2006, GTI International has seen a fresh lease of life and last year's event was the best so far, attracting visitors not only from all over the UK and Europe but from as far afield as Australia and the USA.

2011 will see our sixth year at Bruntingthorpe Proving Ground and it promises to be the best GTI International ever – we look forward to seeing you there

CampingFor the last two years we’ve provided camping on site at GTI International and it has been a great success, with a huge turnout, and a great time has been had by all.

Camping on site not only saves money in travelling expenses or local hotel accommodation, but it also adds enormously to the social atmosphere of the event.

The camp site provides toilets and showers and there is a catering unit to provide an evening meal and cooked breakfast. In previous years we’ve laid on a disco, DJ and a bar, but experience tells us that most campers prefer to bring a few beers and provide their own evening entertainment…

Club displaysMost of the country's top owners’ clubs and website groups are present at GTI International, putting on displays to represent their interests and to provide a meeting point for members.

A trophy is awarded for the Best Club Display, along with a cheque for £100. Last year this was won by the Ibiza Owners’ Club, but we’re sure that 2011 will see many other strong contenders for this coveted title!

Club members also enjoy competing in a range of light-hearted competitions, including a Tug of War and a Space Hopper race, not to mention socialising late into the night in the camping area..!

The club display area and inter-club competitions are organised by a team led by Gaz Bailey

and if u have a tent why not stay saturday night and have a few beers and a BBQ!!

question: isnt this quite pricey to camp? got any more info on camping fitzy?

nothing yet as its early days but i will emaithem tomorrowl. but i would imagine its around £40 for the weekend??

i wont find out if i can go until friday when my work shift pattern is out sooooooo fingers crossed

its approx £40 to camp the sat and if you want to camp both nights its a tenner more. can people let me know whos camping cos i dont want to be a larry

You can, but its usually big $$, I wasnt gonna go this year, but as I have now got a reason for going Im all for the trip
