| The Mk2 has gone £1850 I got in the end. After a few things that need doing round here and bits and bobs Im looking for another VDub around £1500-£1600. It needs to swallow two car seats and at least one buggy with ease, be modernish, reliable, still able to tinker/modify.
Thoughts are
Bora Passat Saloon or Estate Audi A4 prefer the Avant Audi A6 as above. Golf but would have to be a Mk4 so abit out of my price range.
Needs to be good on fuel so no V5 or V6 petrols. 1.8T is ok though as they average about 30MPG. So 1.6 1.8N/A or 2.0 or Diesel obviously.
Ive gone through Edition 38, Autotrader, Piston Heads and Ive tried Gumtree although thats just annoying, I havent found anything that takes my fancy.

| My 1.8T does 30 mpg around town and 40 mpg on long runs. The GT TDi are great diesel engines but will be more coupons to buy. I know of one local 1.8T MKIV that sold for 2k but that was very low. If you are going to see anything with the 1.8T engine in it, give me a shout and I will see if I can come see it with you. | |

| 5-door mk3... will fit 2 seats easy, and the boot will swallow a Quinny Buzz and still leave room... As I found when I went looking, £1500 A4/Passats are a bit, well, shite generally... Talk to Fitzy about Boras weak points, A6's are generally ok for that money but the insurance will kill you! I even found an R6 avant for £1500.. with a burnt out engine bay! Look at Leon's/Toledos and Octavias.. lots more bang for the bucks... almost landed a top of the range Octy 18T estate for £1500 on the trader... had only done 80k too! | |

Ive looked more and more in to Mk3 Golfs after deviants advice, particulay the long ones.(Also leaves me with more pennies to play) Ive spent near on 2hrs going through Ed38 Mk3 Estate thred and they look damn good. Im going to a car aucton in Surrey 2morow to see if I can get a bargain. Havent been to a car auction since I was about 12 and I only went once so should be fun. Im aiming to turn up an hour before it kicks of so I can have a good look at the ones that might be in my price range. On my return if I havent bought a bargain Im off to see a Mk3 Variant(Estate) 93K 1.8 Petrol very very local £900 though so hoping for some flexiable pricing.
