Mine comes off a lot so here is a guide to make it easier.
Before you start, have some small jubilee clips, some silicon small guage pipe and a spare dipstick tube because you might need to change these things.
Undo the plate infront of the inlet manifold, this require the two nuts that hold the return pipe for the secondary air system to be undone and two allen bolts that hold the plate to the manifold.
Three pipes to the right exist on my AUM engine that need to be disconnected
From factory these will have clamp clips, I use a small head screw driver to slide in and then open the compressed clamp at the top, then open them up I replace them with small jubilee clips and any pipes I can with small bore silicon hoses.
A forth hose goes to the inlet manifold, this is a short pipe and makes it really hard to move the plate properly without disconnecting it, again it has the nasty one use claps so make it easier for yourself and get rid of the clamps now.
The primary secondary air intake also is bolted to the bottom of the plate, disconnect the pipe from the secondary air pump at one end and from the air box at the other if you still have it connected.
The reverse of the plate is shown below.
The gold unit on the right is the N112 for the secondary air pump valve.
The middle unit is the N249 valve that uses a vacuum reservoir to steal you boost electronically
The black thing on the bottom left is a one way valve.
The following pic focuses on the four connection that are all used by the vacuum system
The white t-piece goes to the inlet manifold and is the source of the vacuum
The thinest top pipe is for the secondary air intake valve.
The middle goes to the diverter valve
The lower goes to the vacuum reservoir
The follow diagram does not entirely help unless you can work out the plumbing on the car.
After messing about with this and replacing pipes with silicon, my engine responds much better under boost and I can confirm that my car does not entirely fit that picture above but close enough.
To properly bypass the N249 valve, the re-routing on this plate needs to take it out of the system, at present I believe it is the valve on the right that is in the middle. That is another guide though.
