Ok... my actuator is playing up, ive been told to get a forge adjustable actuator by a local garage (SCC) but is it worth it as i can get a 2nd hand standard actuator for about a third of the price fitted, what would you do? would it give me any difference in power?

I owuld because I like to upgrade to something better that I can use later to better my engine. However, the cost is pretty high so maybe I would go for a cheapy but if the car is drivable I would wait for a while and save up.

lol basically the actuator opens and closes the waste gate , allowing exhaust gasses to bypass the turbo when not needed for a better explination goodle is your friend
on one side of the coin your missing engine bling on the other side youll never see it

Yer it's drivable, i had it on the rollers and it made 200.4bhp but was only peaking at 10psi and holding 8psi, things is im never gonna adjust it ill leave it at 16psi which is a usual remap psi, which is why im thinking is it worth it? and grice its £120 + hours labour so your talking close to £200.

Mine is a 51 plate too... Very odd how we have managed that.
At present I don't have a need for an Acuator but pick the right day and I might be about to hold a spanner.

I preffer an external waste gate arrangement better turbo life, and also makes a wicked howl when changing gear! (NO I MEAN WASTE GATE NOT BOV!)

This what I mean guys, this clip is of the S1 quattro engine, well the 20V 5 cylinder turbo. This motor runs only an external waste gate/actuator. So that awesome chirp you hear is the wastegate!

u basically block the pipe on the top of the recirc but ur right roumer has it it reduces turbo life not sure myself
