just thought id let you know i have a full version of vagcom ive acquired, works fine, just been out registering it etc and clearing my fault codes lol

all i gotta do is learn how to use it now

OK, let me know if you find the limits of yours and we can use mine. They are expensive but when I add up how many people in the club have used it, then it seem worth it.

Yeah mate, I just thought I'd post up as if someone wants a basic check I can do it! I'm not sure what the difference between software versions? Maybe you can do more logs?

Also do the golfs have the same plugs as my Ibiza?

Yes, the plug is the same OBD2 so should be able to do Audi-Seat-Skoda-VW and Bentley.

I don't have a blue golf, mine is black looks stock because basically it is until I can sort out a few engine problems. However it is expected to change a bit over the next few months.

The software for Vag Com is here from Ross-Tech who make it. Just for completeness, there are a few versions. One tree is available for the interface-cable that Ross-Tech make and sell for a lot of money, this allows a lot of diagnostics and changes to be made. The other tree is for people to use the software with a more generic interface-cable such as the ones off of ebay.
By tree I don't mean a wooden thing that grows in the garden but a development line of the software. Ross-tech appear to be happy to give away the software for free but the actual cable has a licence in it (the cable is technically called a dongle but then you would just be laughing at me), without the licence it will not work so you have to use the version that does not have a dongle requirement.

The last one also gives a few codes for reprogramming areas of your car such as the central locking process.
