| Hi all. I need to upgrade the brakes on the golf, seeing as they are solid disc's, sick of the burnt pad smell after heavy breaking. Looking at a seat cordoba tdi, think they should fit, anybody know for sure? Mine are 256mm. received an e-mail saying the brakes are 265mm dia vented 4x100 stud pattern.
Was looking at brake disc's on ebay, and they say that 256mm vented disc's will go on a seat cordoba and a mk3 golf. So i'm a bit confused. Help if you can.
Here's the info I found.

| 256mm is mk2 16v size already! so i would go for good pads and disc upgrade
zimmermann disc's pagid pads , i am on green stuff their good
braided brake hoses well worth a thought
OR
you want mk3 VR brakes really but you gonna need carriers, calipers and discs and pads, probably bigger wheels!
i am fairly sure the corboda is mk3 brakes.mk2 subframe mk4 polo/van chassis | |

| Braided hoses will make the biggest difference to feel, and some difference to fade but yeah solid discs not the way forward. My 16v (which courtesy of Spooner is now part of about 20 different 16v ) had black diamond discs and braided hoses and stopped like a parachute came out the back (or locked all 4 wheels up at 30 if you felt like it ) | |

| You don't need bigger brakes bazz lolol. Joking. I know my valver runs 256mm setup and stops well! Maybe OEM pads and discs/good quality parts may save you some dub tokins?? But you may be running that already so it's down to preference |

| Got braided hoses already, uprated brake fluid too and pagid pads, only problem is i'm roasting the disc's Just would love it if these brakes fitted, cause the brakes on my last golf which were vented, were awesome. Checked out my caliper's and they won't accept vented disc's, cause already thought about it and using the thinner pads. | |
