Hey guys. need some help. Just got the "remus" manifold second hand as seen in the rides section under 'derek the dub'. the problem is at the end of the manifold there is a 2 bolt fitment to continue it on to the rest of the exhaust system, but.......the system on the car is a sleeve. Gave Roadrunner motorsport a ring and all mk2 16v manifold's they have are sleeve type...

What have i got? haha There is a code on the manifold itself, which does contain VW. Anyone know where i can get an adapter sleeve possibly, or any ideas??

i take it they are all the same diameter? i.e wont fit into eack other one way or the other?

you could cut off the ends and slide both bits into a tube slightly bigger or smaller,it may help space it out right too

the problem is i think those fixtures are like that to allow some flex in the system, without that flex you gonna work the exhaust loose with lots of blowing etc

unless you go for solid front engin mount to stop the engin moving

but that puts more pressure on your divetrain CV'S ,DIFF

CORRECT ! it is one thing after another!

for me i would stick to OEM manifold i have a 1.8 16v mani fold on my ABF, did the research and was told there is no performance benefit

What's going to happen now is the two bolt part is going to be cut off and a flexi pipe will be added then sleeved in to the rest of the system, therefore giving it enough flexibility, so it won't snap....
