Just thought id better update on here, after a nightmare with a black gti that never made it to the road i came across this beut'
Managed to persuade shelley to take me to bristol to pick her up.
This is how she looked when i picked her up.

PLANS ???

Plans are get her resprayed so she will last forever, almost got all the bits i need. Then engine wise who knows something useable but a little faster.

Hi all, have had a hectic couple of days last week end. thought i would let you all know what ive been up to.
Went to varoius clutch places to get a quote for my slipping clutch, cheapest i had was over 700 pounds because its 13 hours labour because of the transfer box etc. Then was wondering whether i should just cut my losses and sell her

Decided not to(of course) lol and rang a mate of mine and asked him if he would come over with his engine crane and to see if he would help me change the clutch, all good so far.
DAY 1
so he came over on the saturday morning, we took apart the front end, drained all the nessasary fluids, diconnected the propshaft exhaust etc and within about an hour had the engine out.

while we had the engine out we put a brand new water pump and cam belt just for piece of mind, put the new clutch in, put it all back together, the tranfer box was a bugger to get matched up properly.

DAY 2

went about putting it all back together, replaced all the engine mounts, and i painted a few bits up, front cross member slam panel, radiator cowling.
Anyways got it all back in, connected up.
Drained and refilled gearbox and transferbox. ht changed and spark plugs.

Oh and while everything was apart fited some new suspention to the front.

All in a weekend.

was the green golf bought from a house in courtlands drive? doesnt he have 2 more mk2's??

Yeah it was bought from I guy in courtlands drive, he now has no dubs, there all gone.
I've not been to a meet for ages, but will have to get down to one soon, the question is which car to bring lol, any opinions?
