As far as I know you aren't covered by normal car insurance or recovery if they can prove you were on the strip when the car breaks or gets damaged. Thats why you see cars being towed out by a mate and then at the side of the lanes on the way home. I had this, I snapped a driveshaft on my old VTi at the start line as the track was still sticky from the previous weekends top fuel weekend. Aaron, my bro, towed me in his civic VT (mine now) to the village, we turned it so it was facing the pod and rang recovery. 1st thing the tow driver said was that I'd been racing and he was leaving, I said it was on the way there, so I popped it on the kerba nd went to the pod anyway thinking we'd sort it out later. 3 hours (no joke) of argueing with him and Green Flag they agreed to take me home. Its worth checking everything and paying a bit more on insurance and recovery if they agree to cover it,. | |
