| Try a mk3 2.0 16v, only 25bhp less than a VR6, then put a decent cam in it as they are cheap. K&N panel filter and a remap, ok not got the sound track of a VR but should be as torquey, plus not bad mpg. | |

| Or Vento/Bora?
Get the 2.0 Vento same engine as the mk3GTi8v (I think) and cheaper to buy and insure... banged on the floor with some 17's and Robert's you mother's brother!
Or Vento VR... mmm sleeper!
If the snow-board issue's important then it'll probably be an estate... although mate of mine manages to get his in his Brabus Smart | |

| What about a 98ish 3 series touring - 325 maybe, can be had for 1500 for a tidyish one and you'd have rwd and a 2.5 litre straight 6? its not vag but smooth it, slam it on some wide rims and you've got an awesome looking motor with plenty of room for the family dogs and snowboards for all | |
